Common Ground Collaborative, Inc. (“Common Ground”) is a non-profit that provides spaces for writers and artists to engage with each other in workshops, retreats and programs where they can collaborate and foster creativity and productivity. We provide this website www.common-ground-collaborative.org, electronic information, and electronic communications (such as email) for informational purposes only. This Privacy Policy describes how we may collect, use and protect personally identifying information that you provide us through our interactions.

 

We respect your privacy and have safeguards in place to protect it. If we ask you to provide personal information, we will only use it according to this Privacy Policy. We may change this Privacy Policy occasionally by posting updates on our website at www.common-ground-collaborative.org/privacy-policy. You should check here regularly to ensure that you are aware of any changes. If we make substantial changes, we may let you know.

 

Collection of Information

We may collect (either directly from you or through third-party services) the following personally identifying information:

  • Your name and contact information, including a phone number, postal or email address.

  • Online identifiers including your browser information, device information, Internet Protocol (IP) address, information collected through cookies, pixel tags and other technologies, the day and time of your visit, which pages on our website www.common-ground-collaborative.org you visited and for how long.

  • Information you provide through the website in requesting information.

  • Information you provide in interacting with our social media pages.

 

We may use cookies during your visit to our website.  A cookie is software information which is used to track usage of our website while you are visiting.  These cookies enable us to track website traffic on our site.  Some of these cookies may be placed by third-party services and social media sites such as Facebook and Instagram. You have the option of rejecting cookies through your browser settings.  If you reject cookies, you may still use our site, but some features on the site may not function properly.

We do not currently respond to Do-Not-Track browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online.

Minors

Our programs and the information on our website are intended for writers and artists of all ages. Therefore, some of the personal information we collect may be that of children under 18 years of age. However, any collection of personal information of or communications with a person under 18 years of age must be with the consent of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information of minors without parental or guardian consent.

Use of Information

We use your information for many internal purposes, including responding to your inquiries, and fulfilling your requests.  We therefore use this information to send information to you, such as providing information and communicating with you about our programs, facilities and registration. We may use this information to personalize and enhance your experience on our website and improve electronic communications. We may use the information to solicit donations. However, as described below, we do not process any payments, nor do we store information relating to payment or financial information.

Distribution of Information

We do not and will not sell your information to others.  We do, however, use certain third-party vendors in connection with our business, such as for email communications, data storage, which may have access to your personal information. You should carefully review the privacy statements and other conditions of use of these vendors. Their information may be found at:

  • Google for email, information technology (IT), and data storage

  • Wix for website (cloud) hosting

  • Facebook for social media

  • Instagram for social media

  • Twitter for social media

Data we collect is stored on cloud-based servers according to the cloud host’s privacy policies, which use commercially reasonable standards for maintaining and securing the data. Any contractors or third-party vendors we work with have agreed to keep your personal information at least as safe as we keep it and to only use the personal information for the limited purpose of providing the contracted services to us.

We do not process payments. We may in the future seek donations. In that event, any processing of donation payments, or payments for registering in our programs, would be provided by a third-party vendor.  Your information would be provided to such vendor solely for the purpose of processing payment for donations or registrations.  All vendors only use your personal information for performing their service functions and are prohibited from using it for other purposes.

You may receive a notice when information about you may be shared with third parties, and you will be provided with the opportunity to choose not to share the information.
